13 Oct BREATH AND LET GO, A TCM PERSPECTIVE ON THE ENERGIES OF FALL.

Fall is upon us, and soon Winter will be here. We can feel the cold wind and we can see the leaves falling from the trees. In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) we believe that the transitions of seasons are the most vulnerable times for our health and energy. In TCM, the Fall is connected to the organs LUNG and LARGE INTESTINES, and this two organs can play a mayor influence of how you feel energetically and emotionally.

LUNGS: It is important to strengthen our Lungs during the Fall, because, in TCM we believe they are in charge of our defensive energy or immune system. This way we can prevent and control illness like allergies and common colds. Thu lungs are one of the organs in charge of releasing toxins, so it is through our breath we can let go of things that no longer serve us and also it is through our breath we can gather the Qi/Prana/Energy from the air around us. Doing breathing exercises everyday for 5 min can help you feel light and full of energy.

LARGE INTESTINES: It is important to support our Large Intestines function in the Fall, because it is through our bowels that we can also release toxins and energy that does not serve us physically and emotionally. Having a normal and regular bowel movement can help you feel good and happy.

Now is a good time to come for a treatment to strengthen your immune system to prepare for the coming winter. Also as leaves come off trees, its a good reminder for us to shed our body and mind of things we no longer need and prepare to go inside into more quieter times.
