The Eagle has landed!

28 Apr The Eagle has landed!

So I’ve arrived to Taichung,Taiwan, and have completed my first week of clinical observation at the China Medical University of Taiwan. It has been a great experience so far. Monday to Friday we have 2 sessions per day, 8:30am-12pm & 1:30pm-5pm, with two different doctors every day. And in between we have lunch break! which, I gotta say, is one of my favorite parts of the day, since we get to explore the many little restaurants around the area and try new and exciting meals! Like hand cut noodle beef soup, and delicious dumplings from a street stand.

Ok… so going back to Chinese Medicine, I find that all the doctors at the hospital are super nice, the only problem is that most of them, don’t speak english, or just barely! so I miss 80% of what they are saying, thankfully, two of my rotation buddies from my school are from Taiwan, and they can speak the language, so they are helping me out with the translations, Thank you so much Lisa and Yi-Fang for your help! The cases at the hospital are very interesting and I feel that just in one week I have learned a lot and have seen techniques that I would never get a chance to see in Vancouver. So I’m excited about next week, and all the good things that are coming!
