VITAMINS & NUTRIENTS:

Vitamin B1 (Thiamine)

Thiamine enhances circulation and aids blood formation, carbohydrate metabolism and in the production of hydrochloric acid, which helps in proper digestion. This vitamin also optimizes cognitive activity and brain function. It also provides benefits on energy, growth, normal appetite, and learning capacity. As an antioxidant, it protects the body from the effects of aging, alcohol consumption, and smoking.

Vitamin B2  (Riboflavin)

Riboflavin is essential for red blood cell formation, antibody protection, cell respiration, and growth. It aids in the metabolism of carbohydrates, fats, and proteins. It helps Vitamin A maintain the mucous membranes in the digestive tract. Riboflavin also facilitates the use of oxygen by tissues of the skin, nails, and hair; and helps the absorption of iron and vitamin B6.

Vitamin B3  (Niacin)

Niacin aids in proper circulation and healthy skin as well as functioning of the nervous system, metabolism of carbohydrates, fats, and proteins, and in the production of hydrochloric acid. Niacin also lowers cholesterol and improves circulation.

 Vitamin B5  (Dexpanthenol)

B5 is often considered the anti-stress vitamin and supports the adrenal glands.  It plays a role in adrenal hormone production and antibody formation. It also assists in vitamin utilization, and helps to convert fats, carbohydrates, and proteins into energy.

Vitamin B6  (Pyridoxine or Pyridoxial 5- Phosphate)

This vitamin is the most involved in bodily functions than almost any other single nutrient, supporting both physical and mental health. It is necessary for the production of hydrochloric acid and the absorption of fats and protein. It also aids in maintaining sodium and potassium balance, and promotes red blood cell formation. It activates many enzymes and aids in the absorption of vitamin B12.  Pyridoxine additionally increases immunity to cancer and aids in the prevention of arteriosclerosis.

Folic Acid (Vitamin B9)

Folate is actually part of the Vitamin B Family and is considered a “brain food” and is needed for energy production and the formation of red blood cells. It boosts immunity by aiding white blood cells. It is also important for healthy cell division and replication. Moreover, it is involved in protein metabolism and has been used in the prevention and treatment of folic acid anemia.

This Vitamin is specially important for woman that are thinking of getting pregnant and that are pregnant.  Folic acid prevents miscarriage and neural tube defect and other birth defects like spina bifida.  Other uses of Folic acid is for the prevention of colon and cervical cancer.  It is also used to prevent heart disease and stroke.

Vitamin B12  (Methylcobalamin)

I use a preservative free methylcobalamin which is the most active and useful form for the body.  Hydroxy and cynocabalamin are the cheaper form of vitamin B12 and not the ideal choice for injectables.

Vitamin B12 is an especially important vitamin for maintaining healthy nerve cells, and it helps in the production of DNA and RNA, the body’s genetic material. Vitamin B12 also works closely with folic acid (B9) to help make red blood cells and to help iron have an optimal function in the body. Folic Acid and B12 work together to produce S-adenosylmethionine (SAMe), a compound involved in immune function and mood. It is also needed to convert carbohydrates into glucose in the body, thus leading to energy production and a decrease in fatigue and lethargy.  B12 helps in the regulation of the nervous system and helps protect against heart disease by curbing and improving unhealthy cholesterol levels, protecting against stroke, and high blood pressure.

Taurine

Taurine is an amino acid, that is essential for cardiovascular function and development and function of skeletal muscle, the retina and the central nervous system.  Research has found Taurine to be effective in removing fatty liver deposits and preventing liver disease.  There is evidence that it is beneficial for blood pressure.  It also acts as an antioxidant and protects against toxicity of various  substances like lead and cadmium.  Additionally, supplementation with Taurine has been shown to prevent oxidative stress induced exercise.  Taurine helps keep potassium and magnesium inside the cells, while keeping excessive sodium out, in this way it acts like a diuretic. According to animal studies it produces an anxiolytic effect. Taurine also acts a like a mood regulator and a blood sugar regulator.

Methionine

An antioxidant amino acid that neutralizes free radicals. It aids in breaking down fat, removing heavy metals from the body, and helps with digestion. It is one of the important amino acids that increase energy and lean muscle mass.  It is important for many bodily functions. It acts as a lipotropic agent to prevent excess fat buildup in the liver and the body, is helpful in relieving or preventing fatigue and may be useful in some cases of allergy because it reduces histamine.  Clients with a Sulfa allergy should not have this injection because it is one of the amino acids that contains sulphur.

Inositol

A vitamin that is vital for metabolism of fat and helps reduce blood cholesterol. It prevents the hardening of arteries.  Inositol participates in action of serotonin, a neurotransmitter known to control mood and appetite.  it has also been shown to help in the treatment of depression and anxiety.

Choline

Plays a major role in cardiovascular health.  It minimizes excess fat in the liver through its fat and cholesterol metabolic properties.  It supports the health of the liver in its processing and excretion of chemical waste products within the body.
